Will Adams is the Veteran Justice Outreach Specialist at the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, a position he assumed in March 2016. Mr. Adams is the son of a retired U.S. Air Force colonel and was raised predominantly in the Southeast. In 1999, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia Southern University and moved to Tuscaloosa. After working six years as a child abuse investigator for the Alabama Department of Human Resources in Sumter and Tuscaloosa counties, he entered graduate school at The University of Alabama and completed his Master’s of Social Work in 2005. From there, he served as the Maternal/Child Social Worker at DCH Regional Medical Center until 2009, when he was hired by the Department of Veteran Affairs as the OEF/OIF/OND Social Worker. He served in that capacity for seven years before assuming his current role. In February, Mr. Adams was chosen to receive the Liberty Bell Award by the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association. Mr. Adams and his wife Kathryn have been married for 21 years and have two teenage daughters.
