Thomas has worked in the financial services industry for more than 37 years, where he has helped his clients navigate many types of market and economic environments. He is a Certified Financial Planner and is the founding partner of Dedrick Wealth Management Group with Raymond James and Associates.

He is a 1981 graduate of Morris Brown College in Atlanta, where he was a member of the Wolverines football team. After college, he attempted a professional football career by signing with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL. He was inducted into his alma mater’s football hall of fame and was recently recognized by the College for Distinguished Achievements in Business. Thomas has continued his education by earning the CFP® certification, Wealth Management Specialist and Investment Management Consultant designations, and he has been a National Football League Registered Player Financial Advisor.

Thomas has served on numerous boards which include Big Brothers Big Sisters, the United Way, Tuscaloosa Transit, Chamber of Commerce, the Good Samaritan Clinic and he recently completed 11 ½ years on the board of Jacksonville State University where he served as vice chairman of the board of trustees and chairman of the athletic committee. He is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and 100 Black Men of West Alabama.

Thomas and his wife Angelita have two adult sons and in their spare time, they enjoy spending time at their farm hunting and fishing.
