Stephanie Taylor is the communications specialist for the Tuscaloosa Police Department. In her role, she’s responsible for communicating with the media and the public about significant events and other matters involving the department. It’s the first time the position has been filled with a civilian rather than a sworn law enforcement officer.

She spent so much time as a reporter writing about the experiences of families that had been affected by violence – often after the loss of a young person’s life. She hopes that serving on this committee will be a real way to make positive changes in the community so no other family has to experience that kind of pain and loss again.
