Qadeem Hassan was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1992. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 2011 and furthered his education at Shelton State Community College and the University of Alabama. In 2016, he dedicated his life to pursuing a professional career in the bar industry. Hassan currently works at Session Bar in downtown Tuscaloosa and part-time for his father’s business, International Produce. He is currently working towards becoming a business owner in the near future. In 2020, he began advocating for social injustice and the reform of systemic racism within the community, state and country. After co-organizing a successful protest for racial inequality in downtown Tuscaloosa, Hassan decided to join Project Unity in hopes of making an impact in the community, especially for youths. His goal is to help create a safe and successful learning environment for the student body, and to ensure a higher quality of life for Tuscaloosa’s youth.
