Howell is a highly accomplished visionary leader with governmental experience in neighborhood revitalization, disaster recovery, housing and community development. He currently serves as the Director of Community and Neighborhood Services. Mr. Howell was named the Project Unity Team Leader for the Mayor’s Alliance for Opportunity and Advancement and serves as ex-officio on the Chief’s Commission for Community Policing.

LaParry serves on numerous boards where he continues to displays his passion for helping enhance the community for the better. He serves on the Tuscaloosa Transit Authority Board, the Salvation Army Advisory Board, Tuscaloosa Fair Housing Advisory Committee, Tuscaloosa Housing Finance Corporation Board, Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Directors and the National Community Development Association Housing and Community Development Subcommittee. In addition, he is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and the Alabama Federation of Housing Counselors and Agencies, Inc.
