Katherine Waldon is currently an educator with the Tuscaloosa City School System. She has served more than six years in Education and Workforce Development. Katherine volunteers with several civic and faith-based organizations such as the Benjamin Barnes YMCA Advisory Council, Junior League of Tuscaloosa-Community Council, Eta Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and New Harvest Church of God Children and Youth Department as the Assistant Director. Katherine Waldon attended the University of Alabama and received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English in 2014 and later received her Master’s in Public Administration in 2016. Katherine and her husband, Corey Waldon, have been happily married for four years and are proud parents of a 20-month-old miracle baby, Kylar Faith. Katherine enjoys giving back to her community, especially to children and teens. Her and her husband founded Saturday Academy in 2018, a free summer enrichment, remediation and leadership development program for middle school aged children. Katherine’s lives by the quote, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
